Commuter Services of North Florida is a regional commuter assistance program funded by the Florida Department of Transportation District 3 Office. Our mission is to improve mobility for work and student commuters through the use of transportation demand management strategies such as carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, biking, walking, telework, and flexible work scheduling. Such options broaden transportation choices for commuters, facilitate individual cost savings, reduce fuel consumption, and mitigate both air pollution and traffic congestion.
The free services we provide are available to commuters within an eight-county region (Leon, Jefferson, Gadsden, Wakulla, Franklin, Liberty, Jackson, and Calhoun counties). Commuter Services also provides no-cost assistance and consulting services to employers seeking to address employee transportation issues such as recruitment/retention, parking management, and adoption of telework and flex-time policies.
Commuter Services of North Florida began serving the Big Bend region in the mid 1990s, taking over for the Capital City Transportation Management Association, which served Tallahassee residents from 1991-1996.
Since no single organization can effectively address all of the transportation issues facing commuters, Commuter Services of North Florida also partners with numerous organizations to address commuter mobility. Partners include StarMetro, the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency, FDOT, Big Bend Transit, the West Florida Regional Planning Council, and J-Trans.
